The Facts about African Mango

Everyone from house wives to Dr. Oz is talking about it: African Mango supplements, said to help you lose weight, shrink waist and hip size, and lower your total cholesterol levels. But just what is African Mango and how does it work?

Pure African Mango is a popular weight-loss supplement made from extracts of the West African fruit irvingia gabonesis, also called African Mango. People who want to see results, must take two rapid-release capsules three times a day, 30 minutes before meals. According to a study published in the Lipids in Health and Disease, obese men and women who took the supplement for 28 days lost an average of over 5 percent of their original body weight, experienced reduced waist and hip size, and had significant decrease of total cholesterol.

With such impressive claims, one has to wonder whether this miracle diet pill is safe. While there have not been any long-term studies on the product, studies have shown no undesirable side effects. A few patients experienced headaches, sleep problems, and gas; however the statistics were similar in the placebo group.

Although subjects of the study did not have to make any dietary changes or exercise, makers of Pure African Mango recommend adding exercise and eating a healthy diet in order to experience the best results. As with any weight-loss pill, it’s important to consult your doctor before trying anything new.
